Level Q, Stockton
The North East Speak Their Name Quilt/Banner follows on from landmark projects in Greater Manchester and Yorkshire. The quilt will be made of individual fabric squares, each crafted by those bereaved to suicide, representing and honouring their loved ones who have died. The squares will be created into a powerful artwork which will take centre stage in our region. It will tour public places, provoke thought, be a catalyst for conversations and raise awareness about suicide. Alongside this, the quilt will bring hope and healing to those who have lost loved ones.
Headlight Project are supporting the initiative by hosting 4 workshops at our office in Stockton. Our workshops will all run from 6pm till 8pm on the following dates:
17th May, 31st May, 12th June, 28th June
No experience is necessary and materials will be provided. You will also have support and help with your designs from our volunteers.
If you would simply like to collect the guidelines and fabric pack to complete in your own time, that can also be arranged.
All squares must be handed into our office by 7th July so they can be delivered to the project leads, who will be arranging for the quilt to be made, ready for the launch event on 11th November at the Newcastle City Library.
Please register your interest and we will send you all the details🧡
